Happy Thanksgiving to each of you. May your holiday be safe & ...
My family are ell ringers for SalvationArmy.
ReplyDeleteKeep change in your pockets for those bell ringers. Here, they are usually freezing cold as they stand outside.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Hi Marydon! Yep, I try to share my little change too! Hope you're doing well and I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Marydon, Thank you for that information. I knew that about unicef...sad. It will be the salvation army for me. I remember when my family recieved Christmas gifts from the salvation army.I was 10. We were happy kids, thanks to them. Hope you are doing well. Have a happy thanksgiving. xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHear! Hear! For a long time our family has not given to the Red Cross because of the exorbitant expenses... and we always give to the Salvation Army and local missions. Buy a dinner for a bell ringer! Some of them need it badly!
ReplyDeleteWOW....I didn't know...I do love helping Salvation Army..what little I can :) Have a very blessed Thanksgiving Marydon.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'd long suspected this ... now, your facts have cemented my decision where NOT to give! Personally, I wish we could be given the names/addresses of individuals and send directly to those in need.
ReplyDeleteI love the Salvation Army - thanks. Happy Thanksgiving! sandie
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info:) Love you Marydon! Hope you are feeling better:)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info.. I always give to the Salvation Army and Red Cross.. They all need it so bad.. So many people in need..Hugs, Susie
ReplyDeleteWOW....I did not know this...Thank you for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteSending love and hugs this Thanksgiving, Elizabeth
Hi Marydon, Thank you for the information. I usually throw my change in the kettle for the Salvation Army at several different locations. They do very good work here in our area. I hope you are getting stronger each passing day and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Your family is growing so very fast. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteDear Marydon, Yes, I knew about these charities and the only one worth helping is the Salvation Army. Sad but true!!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you and hoping you are feeling better. Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment. Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving with many blessings for health, happiness and love.
Hugs, CM
This is great information. Those are shockingly high salaries (could one say obscene) and I will re-think about where to give. A favorite local group has only one paid worker, the rest are volunteers and it is run from a church so no overhead.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
ReplyDeleteM :)
Thank you for sharing this truth. I once worked for United Way and have NEVER donated since. They are corrupt. We always give directly to the charity of choice or to the Salvation Army. The SA are good people for sure.
ReplyDeleteyou’re a great professional for writing it, congrats.

Aw....Love is....so sweet! Does Andrew's homemade Apple Pie count? LOL! My beautiful grandson baked a cherry, apple and pumpkin pie from scratch. Bless his precious heart! we have a patient at the office who is a bell ringer. I just dumped all the change I had into the kettle outside my grocery store yesterday! I love the Salvation Army! Those big spenders, not so much! My late father-in-law told a sotry about servicemen and the Red Cross during WWII. It was a shocking sad story! Like our government officials, I think they should all be volunteers! Not a tax payer penny to lavish on their fab lifestyles. That alone would balance our budget!
ReplyDeleteSo glad honey you shared this information with all of us.
ReplyDeleteLove you
