It has been one harried week. We cleaned out cupboards, closets, drawers, garage, storage room, etc. Oh, my! how stuff has been accumulated. We decided to sell our 'stuff' now ... truly clean house.
Dying to go to the auction to see how it all does ...

ReplyDeleteI did this same thing 10 yrs ago. Now I find myself bringing "stuff" back. I have to remind myself how much work it all was. Now, when I bring something in...I know that something has to go out...so I'm much more careful what I buy. Now, when it comes to books....that's my downfall.

Hubby and I are thinking about packing up LOTS of stuff to take to an auction this fall! I so hear you!!! Just a tad "scared" that stuff will go too cheap...glassware doesn't sell for much anymore...I hope your auction goes very well for you! It is nice to have the home back in order!

I did bite the bullet and threw out a lot of clothes..actually, I sent it all to Goodwill. If shipping were not so high..I would bid on that tea set. LOL

ReplyDeleteIt isn't easy to weed out your treasures, is it? I know it's only stuff, and most of ours is more sentimental than valuable, but we sure have accumulated a lot over the years. Besides, who knows when my fifth grade orchestra pin might come in handy...? Seriously, good for you. We've cleared out a bunch of our stuff, too, but we still have a long way to go. Heaven knows, our kids won't want to deal with all these things after we're gone.
It was nice to see your pics from your trip to Mt. Vernon and Williamsburg. We're originally from Maryland, so we've been to those places, but it's been quite a while. Nice to re-visit them again with you.

Wow, you've got some nice stuff there! I've cut down on the clutter too or I'd definately want to add some of your clutter to our home. Very pretty. I'm a sucker for antique glass. There's just no more room.
