You may wish to view this wonderful orphange & how the children celebrate Jesus' birth ... they will melt your hearts. Dottie is a new blogger that is going to Africa on a mission in a few weeks, I hope you will join her on this life dream travel.
Our mantle is a vintage piece with bits of gorgeous
detail still left ... the stocking on the left is Joshua's.
The stocking on the right is our elegant beauty
acquired this year.
The table holds a spot of tea & some Japanese tea cookies,
a gift from our client, Chieko ... please, come join me.
The Victorian chair is (1) of (3) that we acquired for $5
each that surround the mantle when the tree is not there.
The table is my Mother's, she loved this table. It was
always a focal point in her living room.
The tea set is English ... this was a great find, I love it.
Our nativity set is Irish Belleek ... I would have
nothing less as it is my heritage. I treasure this
& it is out all year long on this mantle.
The candles are everlasting (battery) candles that give
the perfect glow. I tied a dotted swiss effect ribbon to
finish them off.
The cross is, of course, green ... simple yet so elegant to
have the nativity in front of it all year round.

Your mother's table is lovely...no wonder she loved it. How lucky for you to have it now. I love to get peeks into your home. I'm snoopy that way.lol!
I want to wish you a wonderful week my dear friend.

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sweet Sis...
ReplyDeleteIt is Monday, and we are back to work today. I will so miss you. It has been the best time EVER. I so cherish each and every memory etched within my mind and heart.
I love this mantel. That formal living room is so tranquil. I loved sitting in there and crocheting with you. What beautiful memories full of laughter and smiles, and even sweet secrets.
I love the nativity scene and the beautiful table that belonged to Momma. How gorgeous it looks there. She would be so happy to know that it is still treasured as much as when it sat in her home.
I so enjoyed the walk about today. I feel like I am strolling right through with you.
I love you and miss you already. Thank you again for the most beautiful weekend ever. We so enjoyed ourselves didn't we?
All my love, your little sis, Sherry

ReplyDeleteI see you are ready for Christmas and it looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI can see why it calms you-it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHello Marydon~I've got to say....you've got a beautiful Christmas setting in your home. your tree is trimmed in the most lovely ornaments.
ReplyDeleteWe're making slow progress decking the halls at my home. Hubs cut our Christmas "TREEZILLA"!! down from the backyard this weekend. Turns out what grows outside really appears much smaller then you think, lol. With my college boy home it has put us in a festive mood.
Do you like playing Christmas music while decorating? For me the music welcomes a wonderful sentiment of the season to the air, as does the aromas of baking.
It's good to be back, I hope you get a chance to stop by for a visit.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
Oh my Marydon I am so happy to see your beautiful pieces. It makes me feel like I am visiting at your home. These pieces are just so lovely and I can see why you feel such peace when you are around them.

When I think of someone that often it makes me wonder if their okay.
So happy I got to come by this evening.

Maggie
