This past weekend we celebrated our sons 50th birthday.
Emery & Cathelene
Emery is so old that the cake wouldn't hold all those candles ... love you son!
This week is also Cathelene's birthday. Love you, sweetie.
And, this month was also their 15th wedding anniversary ...
We presented to them the baptismal gown that my G'ma Maggie made as the caretakers of this 100+ year old treasure.
~~~ Mr. Bill Stitely from The Museum Shop in Frederick, Md., did one fabulous creation in protecting G'ma Maggie's gown. He stitched it gently with a cotton thread to protect the fabric from 'injury'. He assured us that should Cat & Emery decide to baptize their grandchildren, it can be removed & used. The picture will hang on the wall directly behind the 4 o us, beneath Ansel Emery & Tatiana Isabelle's pictures. Thank you Mr. Stitley, we love it. ~~~
To you in our vicinity ~ we highly recommend this shop. It was very reasonable, the care was excellent, the finished framing is excellent.
Lots of high school friends came from near & far to join Emery in this event.
And we had oodles of kid-lings & family there. It was a long fabulous night of celebrating.
You HAVE been busy with celebrating. What better way to live than to celebrate life.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's 'boyfriend' just turned 50 this past week. I had to tease him and tell him he's now between the ages of whippersnapper and old fart.
He laughed.
Enjoy the summer. I know you are.
Good Morning Sweet Friend,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time you all had to celebrate your son's 50th birthday. I can't believe it. You don't look like you could have a child that age. How do you stay so young??
Happy Birthday to your son, Marydon! The baptism gown is such a special gift. What a great idea preserving it like that. I just bought a box to preserve Nel's veil after the wedding. Family celebrations are so fun, and I'm glad you had such a wonderful get together.
