I have shared with you our Love Is... collection for many Monday's, & even in between.
We have over 1,800 of these darling treasures by Kim Casali.
It takes time to decide which will be perfect for each presentation, for you to enjoy.
And, each week I love to just read them over & over ...
Many a memory of life floods me with each browsing. Having been 'missing' a wee bit lately, here is what I've been doing ...
Such a beautiful sight flapping in the wind ...
We found a mother lode of fabulous feedsacks between OH, PA & MD ...
So I have been busy washing ...
& folding ...
& inventorying these beauties. I catch as many of you, my sweet friends, as I can. We had over 550 come in & there are more on the way. Hubby is a wonderful help in getting thru all the steps of preparation for selling. TY honey!
Feedsacks may be viewed @ www.blushingroseboutique.com
We now have over 4,000 of these gorgeous wonderful fabrics ... if you have any warm memories of feedsacks being used in your life, I would LOVE to have you share them with me.
Please join the Love Is... ladies ~

I bet the neighbors say, "Well I can see Marydon has been out feedsack hunting again, her line is flapping in the breeze." I love the sound of laundry blowing in the breeze and the clean smell when we bring it inside. Thanks for sharing sweet Sis.

Always enjoying your feed sacks. Stopping by with hugs and wishes to keep cool. I'm back to work tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHi Marydon, Your feed sacks have brought back so many wonderful memories of the dresses that my mother made for me and my sisters as we were growing up. The scraps went into quilts that she made. She never let anything go to waste. We had doll clothes made out of them even shirts for my brothers. The only store bought dress I had growing up was my dress for my senior high school graduation which was my gift from them and my grandmother. Have a wonderful day. Hugs Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteI love your feedsacks!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child, almost all of my blouses were made from them.
After my mom laundered and ironed them, we'd walk across the corn field to Miss Lela's. She was the neighborhood seamstress. I can remember her single snow white braid falling down her back now.
I'm going to look at your collection now!
Oh wow, I bet you're going to make quilts from them..My mom always told us she wore feedsack dresses growing up and floursack dresses..I'd love to find a load of those..Anxious to see your finished products..Blessings, Susie
ReplyDeleteMarydon,
ReplyDeleteThe pieces of material remind me of my mom. She could sew just about anything, and even made my wedding dress. It sounds like you have been busy this summer. The "LOVE IS" book is so delightful. How nice it is to collect them all. I have a smiliar book that is filled with quotes.

ReplyDeleteWOW Marydon! You sure did hit the mother-lode!! Glad you were able to purchase those in my neck of the woods. Have you received those yet? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteI remember those "love is" captions being in the newspaper when I was younger. SO cute! my how time flies!!
Hugs~
Marydon, I am glad your hubby is so good to help you. We all need a "helping hand" once in a while!! You certainly did hit the mother lode with those feed sacks! My grandmother always covered my sister and I with a pile of quilts at her house when we visited her in the winter. She didn't have central heat so we really needed those quilts to stay warm. Your feed sacks are beautiful, and I know they must smell heavenly after hanging to dry in the sun. Hope your week is perfect in every way, sweet friend. Sending love and hugs to you~Vicki
ReplyDelete4,000? That is so impressive. I remember those cartoons in the paper - a lot of my friends cut them out when one fit them and their fellas.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Marydon, that is a lot of work and sooooo many beautiful feedsacks! Hope you get a chance to kick back and relax a little bit! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness that was a LOT of feedsacks alright. Just stopping by to say hello and checking if you are okay.

I save Family circle Comics. Yours are cute and a good idea to keep them in.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read feed sackers. I was thinking of bird seeds to store them in. I live in the country. Check my page today and see what animla loves seeds. I like your blog. I must see if I can follow you.
I love feedsack and flour sack fabric. I got a few flour sacks from my Grandmother and have them still. I would SO love to have some feedsack fabric to make a little doll quilt. You really made some wonderful buys! WOW!

ReplyDeleteWOW! You have been one busy girl. All those feedsacks stacked together look so pretty and colorful...I have no memories of feedsacks but have heard others talk of them. I had no idea there were any still around, so I learned something today by reading your Blog!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! No wonder you never run out of material, either way! Look at all the love is! Look at all the feed sacks.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a good helper there. You have a lot of work to do.
Hello, you sweet thing! I would LOVE to sit in the swing, sit cold sweet tea and gossip a bit. Cure the woes of the world. :)
ReplyDeleteFeed sacks...yes..well, I wore little dresses made of them.
White high top shoes, little socks with doggies on them and cute feed sack dresses made by Grandma. Yep...those ..were the days my friend...we thought they'd never end.... (wanders off humming...)
What a haul, Marydon!!! Goodness! :)
Hi MaryDon, My sweet mother used to make dresses for from feed sacks but mostly flour sacks because she just fed people. She would often get feed sacks from her sister who had a farm.
ReplyDeleteI can remember her saving up a certain pattern until she had enough to make her selected projectt.
I was speaking with a cousin about this very thing a few days ago. He was telling me, his mom would have his father lift and sift through stacks of 25lb bags so she could get enough of the pattern she wanted.
We got a chuckle from that.
I am going over to take a look. I doubt if I will remember any patterns. I can't remember squat! I don't even remember what squat is!
Love to you, Ginger:)
Your Love is is so perfectly organized. It fits perfectly with your post today! Thanks for including me here.
ReplyDeleteLove your site. I have a problem, maybe you could help me.
ReplyDeleteMy husband gave me a "love Is..." all through our dating/early marriage; 1980's, early 90's. He passed away on Jan, 2103. I can't find the comic strips anywhere. They may have gotten tossed when we moved to Florida. Would you be opposed to scanning each page of your collection if you have that time frame and email to me? Or copy and mail? Of course, I will pay you for it. I hate to ask but I'm grieving the loss of my husband and want to find and keep things he gave me years ago. Pls let me know if you can help.
sincerely, Billie
