Chippy is busy storing up for the winter. He no longer climbs the bird feeder poles as Harold put some 'juice' to them, so he climbs the sunflowers & peers into my office window.
We have 50+ dogwoods in various tages of growth but the big ones are dressed in red berries & a touch of 'autumn' on the leaves.
These iris I just planted & will look forward to spring. Aren't they gorgeous!
Hummer comes twice daily for several feedings which I thoroughly enjoy, camera in hand,.
These beauties just captivate me.
So delicate, sweet & beautiful.
Occasionally I'll see a gorgeous butterfly still long enough to enjoy
Woody occasionally pops over from my neighbors
This spring I got wild with seeds & planted perrenials everywhere in my gardens. Anyone know what this is? There is another pic below ... it just started blooming a week ago & is huge.
Just a wee bit more of the garden ...
The blues are in full regalia right now ...
Here is the other pic of that plant, over 6' tall now.
My favorite geranium in my geranium garden ...
The begonias are coming back nicely after this horrible summer heat
A pretty floral cluster
It is REDSKIN week ... Go 'skins!
More pretties ...
Geranium garden blooming away ...
I love geraniums & impatiens clustered together ...
The coral bells nestled in the front of geraniums
A different view. If you will recall we lost a huge maple in the spring storm. I had Harold & Joshua cut part of the trunk into 2 pretty stands to use for my flowers. I love the look.

I love all of your flowers and I find it interesting that you photographed the hummingbird on your sunflowers as I've been seeing the hummers going to our sunflowers as well and thought that was unusual since that's not usually their choice in flower. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings always,
Linda
Oh Sis...
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed strolling through the gardens with you today. Everything looks so beautiful. Love the hummer, how delightful, I can hear the whirr of his wings. Loved seeing Woodie, the one in our neighborhood pecks out his area on the lightpost poles every morning, I can hear him pecking away.
Loved the Redskin gnome. How cute he looks sitting amongst the flowers in the garden.
Thanks for letting me stroll along. I so enjoyed myself. Hope you are having a great day. I love you sweet sis, and miss you so much. All my love, your lil sis, Sherry
Your garden is SO pretty, Marydon! I love how you have named all of the critters! The shot of the butterfly is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful week! :)
XO,
Jane
That plant that has gotten so huge with the orange flowers is a tithonia, a Mexican sunflower. I always wanted one and made the mistake of planting it up front, it is hogging everything, but so beautiful I can't cut it down. All your flowers are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteI just had to visit you and see your pretty flowers and little "friends"! Your gardens are so pretty. Love those little "hummers"! Have some around my feeder. They are a joy to watch.
Warmly,
deb

ReplyDeleteHi Marydon, Your garden is always so pretty to look at. Your butterfly is beautiful. I have tried to take a picture, but I never seem to manage. I like watching all of your critters. My DIL has a hummingbird feeder right outside her kitchen window. It is so enjoyable to watch them. Have a wonderful day. Hugs Your Missouri Friend.
