What to take to bed with you ... of course it has to be PINK!!!
Pretty neat idea. Never thought of it before.
Put your car keys beside your bed at night.
Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr's office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night.
If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.
This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you
start to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and
requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking
until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in
your driveway or garage.
If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist
If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist
won't stick around. After a few seconds, all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your
car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is something that should really be shared
with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.
I think it is fantastic. Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can't reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she doesn't hear him. He can activate the car alarm and then she'll know there's a problem.
Thank you Kerrie (kerrieskorner) for sharing this great idea.
THANK YOU ALL for your sweet notes & calls ... Crohn's area is small that they found.

Great tip, Marydon. I also have to remember to keep my cell phone near my bed...another great safety precaution.

What a great ideal, I will definitely share this with others. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHugs~~~ Daphne
What a wonderful idea! I really bet this small step would save a life! Hope you are feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful idea for those of us that have those things on our key chain!! Thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteLittle Miss M is sooooooo cute!!
hugs~
That is actually a very good idea. In our neighborhood sometimes there is a car alarm which cannot stop whining for a long time, and surely it made people look out their windows and try to see what's happening. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteThis is a GREAT idea!! Thanks for sharing it and I hope you start feeling better soon!!
ReplyDeleteI have done this for a long time, Marydon, and I also keep my cell phone by the bed. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, thanks for sharing! Could save someone's life! Hope you are having a great day, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThis is really good information! Something for us all to be aware of! Hugs! ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea!!! I love it..and will do it! Thank you for sharing! Hugs to you my friend.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I'm going to print and walk this across the street today ... our sweet, elderly neighbors are a bit unsettled of late -- someone/ones(?) have been ringing their doorbell at odd hours (2AM, 4AM), then disappearing. We've all tried being a bit more aware of one another since ... but this idea seems best!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful day!
Good Morning Sis...
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you out and about this morning. I have been so worried.
I loved this share. It is a great tip. I sleep with my cell phone by my bedside.
Another sunshiny day expected here in the valley. In the 80s again. I am so loving the warmth. Ready for this weather. My flowers are so pretty right now.
Have a beautiful day sweet Sis. I love you and miss you horribly. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
I just started doing this last night along with keeping a phone beside my bed. I don't have a cell phone (I am probably the only person you know that doesn't!...LOL) but hopefully the car alarm would be enough to scare someone off. Plus...us having 7 dogs is another good alarm!

Great idea Marydon. That and a cell phone are both good ideas. LJ
ReplyDeleteThat is sooooooooooooo smart!!!
ReplyDeleteMarydon this is a great tip!!! Can you believe I never even bring the keys in from the car. Crazy I know, but I never have. Even with Dale being a cop, we never bring our keys in. He always locked his patrol though, because his weapon was in it.
ReplyDeleteShhh...don't tell anyone that we never lock our cars!
sending hugs...
I have been doing this for about a year! Makes me feel safer. Hope you are feeling better.

Hey these are some great tips. Thanks. How are you? sandie
ReplyDeleteHello, my friend,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great safety tip. I had never heard it either. I will let others know as well. Hope your week has been a good one. Thank you for stopping by for a visit at Bunny Cottage. Your kind comments always mean so much. I like what you said on your sidebar about letting folks have the religious beliefs they want. Love, Vicki
This is what I had worked out between me and Gretchen when she lived here. I also do it with the young lady that lives in the double wide behind me.
ReplyDeleteIf we hear any of our car alarms going off the other calls 911.
It is something I really think works especially when you have neighbors close by.
Mine along with my gun are on my bedside table every night. lol
Glad you shared this tip with everyone.
Hope you and Harold are doing good.
I have been so busy mowing already that the week has passed before I knew it. lol
Enjoy your weekend
Love
Maggie
That is a good idea Marydon, one I will pass to my daughters and sisters for sure. Hope all is well at your house. 26 more days till Spring..I am ready. Smiles, xo, Susie
ReplyDeletegood tip Marydon. I never thought to do that.
ReplyDeletefeel better soon!

ReplyDeletefeel better soon!
That's a GREAT idea.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea, however, we live way out in the country. Noises would be useless. I have guns and a big dog next to me. Pity the poor fool that breaks into our home. (wink)
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic idea but shoot it all to thunder...there'd be no one 'round here to hear it!
ReplyDeleteHeeeheehehe!!!
I will pass this info along sweetie.
God bless ya and have a fantastic weekend my friend!!!
Great idea...I'm doing it now! Hugs
ReplyDeleteI have thought of a million things to do in case of an emergency like that, but never would have thought of this one. What a fantastic idea, Marydon. Thank you so much for passing this one on to us!! :)
ReplyDeleteexcellent idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Marydon! I'll do that -- starting tonight!

Melinda
My cheap Kia does not even have that feature! Ugh!
