Some people (living in
Bend,
OR) found this fawn
on their front steps and took this photo. The white spots on the steps are apple
blossom petals. Isn't this an amazing photograph? A great job of camouflage! The
fawn stayed there all morning and the mama came to get it after 4-5 hours. Hats
off to the people for leaving the fawn alone, knowing Mom would be back!! People
don't realize that mama has to forage too and will leave baby to do so. They lie
motionless in the grass for her return. Fawns have nearly been stepped on out in
the timber because they lie so still and are camouflaged so well.
So reminds me of a couple years ago when I found little Miss Pearl after birth in my flower gardens. Awwww! such tender precious moments.

Hi Marydon! Oh, how sweet! I certainly didn't know this about the mama deer. Poor little thing, it looks scared. I think a deer is one of God's most beautiful creatures.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

This is an amazing photograph, Marydon, as I didn't even recognize what it was at first. As I took a closer look, I saw this lovely one. She's all still and so sweet. I'm so glad her mom came back and got her.

Such a sweet photo!! Thanks for sharing ♥
ReplyDeletesimply amazing how nature works if we just don't get in the way...lovely photo too!
ReplyDeleteI took a while before I could see it! Reminds me that sometimes, when we knew a cow had calved, it would take us a long time to find where the mother had hidden it before we could get them both safe home to be looked after. Thanks so much for showing this. Joan
ReplyDeleteHow precious. Years ago, I was at my Dad's and a Mama chicken came to have her brood in Dad's barn. What fun it was to see them grow. When they were big enough...they left! The ways of nature are a miracle!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, that image should be in Webster's Dictionary right beside the word, "Precious."
ReplyDeleteI think all our hearts melted a little bit seeing that baby.
Wishing you and Harold a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
What a beautiful photo....and I'm glad the Mama came back for this precious little one. We just watched for nearly two weeks the life cycle of robins...and it is amazing how those parents just know what to do and how very well they do it!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing photo of the little faun. I also LOVE your post on Holland. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog earlier, and I hope you enjoy the weekend!
Oh my goodness what a cute little deer and she did match that step - sandie
ReplyDeleteIt is adorable, and thankfully the people did know enough to leave it alone.

What a precious story! We have a bear problem here! A bear was wandering in a neighborhood not too far away. How he got to the burbs from the high country is something else! He was in a high populated neighborhood with tons of homes all around!
ReplyDeletewhat an awesome picture...glad the mom remembered her baby.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking! Brought tears to my eyes how God creates EVERYTHING perfectly.

This is the SWEETEST LITTLE GUY EVER!!! Oh Yes, look at that camouflage... It would be SO HARD to leave him alone, BUT I would watch over him to make sure Mom came back!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs to you,
Donna
