As I was gardening a man pulled up in front of the house & jumped out of his car.
He yelled 'I love your gardens!'
He kept looking up in the sky ...
So I asked 'what's up'?
He said the Tailwinds Over Frederick were flying 2 hot air balloons ... www.tailwindsoverfrederick.com
Sure enough, there are 2 beauties floating gently in the heavens ...
As they broke the tree line ...
Her answer was 'I do'. It was a marriage proposal flight. How romantic can one get ...
Meandering down another country road ...
We found another gorgeous barn setting ...
I always let my mind wander back into history the events that probably occurred in these beautiful structures ...
This is the home nestled gently amongst the trees ...
Stately standing like a plantation home here in Frederick Co., MD

Hi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see that you stopped by my blog earlier today.
Yes indeed the Merchant Square is very close to Phoenix. Here is the address so you can keep it with you when you get to Phoenix, AZ.
Merchants Square (Antiques and Home Decor Superstore) 1509 N. Arizona Ave. Chandler, AZ. 85225 and the phone number is 480-792-1919.
I know you will enjoy going there.
I love hot air ballons. I have always wanted to go up in one...It is on my bucket list of things to do someday!!
Hugs and Smiles,
Susan

Awww...that IS romantic!
ReplyDeleteSo..how ARE you Sweetcakes! I am fine..most of the time..and at my age that is about the best you can ask for!
My daughter took her husband on one of the baloon rides, paid for dinner where they were to sit down..the whole thing. Cost her a bundle..which she saved for and was so proud. THEY LANDED IN SOMEONES BACK YARD!! AND...there were a bunch of other people jam packed in the ballow with them..so tightly that my daughter didn't get to see a single thing but the backs of other passengers!
:)
I love old barns and you got some great photo's...
Come kick me in the rear when I don't get over here...I just get so darned overwhelmed...you know?
Love and hugs,
Mona
Oh..the silver. The sales are probably out there but you have to go all the time. I can't imagine an area where folks don't have "tag sales" as they call them out there. Here they are garage sales. Whatever the case..surely they are there!
Estate Sales are always WAY higher and I don't need anything to pay a great deal. This is MY kind of shopping. From a quarter to a dollar. Rarely anything over.
Hugs,
Mona
How fun to see the hot air balloons. We have attended the Hot Air Balloon Festival a couple of times in Albuquerque and it's amazing to see over 200 balloons in the air at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the trip down the country road. I just love seeing old barns.
Marydon, Every once in a while, I see the local ballonist around these parts . It's usually on a very calm evening. Love to see them. Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor who was 80 yrs young...asked for a balloon ride for her birthday. She loved it. She then went to Australia for her 81st birthday. She had the best outlook on life..oh that everyone could be like her.
I loved going down that road with you.I'm especially fond of old barns.
Balisha
One doesn't see as many hot air balloons as one used to. They used to be so popular, there would be hot air balloon "races".
ReplyDeleteI love pics of old places. I always wonder what wonderful things happened there too: was there love and joy or was their sadness. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Luv to all there for us! ~:)
What a beautiful story and sooo romantic. I love finding structures like these and often wonder what tales they had tucked away in their walls! Thanks for sharing! Hugs
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and what a way to propose..What memories she'll cherish.. You know me and old barns....Just about everything old is my love..Susie
ReplyDeleteI love that proposal. Can you imagine how special that was? I love all those old buildings. I have never seen a hot air balloon in our area. They are amazing though, aren't they? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet story!!!! I loveeeeeee the photos!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos....we once had a hot air balloon crash into our home...all was well but it was so weird looking out our huge windows at this balloon as big as our home. Hugs for a great week.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! Loved seeing the barn pics.
ReplyDeleteAh, romance.
ReplyDeleteMarydon, stopping by to wish you a Happy Mother's Day. Congratulations on your anniversary too. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet and romantic post:) Love looking up at the sky! Have a blessed day dear Marydon, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteSo romantic! My proposal was 42 years ago... on a snowy night, I still remember how it felt! Love the photos of the old homesteads, you can't help but think back to earlier times when the homes held young families. So many places down our country roads are grown up and the homes are vacant. Time marches on... Hope you are having a good week sweetie!
ReplyDeleteOhh how romantic can that be! We have a Balloon Festival here every Oct. and we always enjoy watching them...Christine
ReplyDeleteWhat a romantic way to propose! Just lovely! Thank you for your sweet comments!

Your hot air balloon shots are fun to see, but your barn shots has me walk with you back into wandering about the history of that place!
