Kitty, Teddy, Bunny, Squirrel Feedsack ~ What a coup! (3) fantastic finds all in one day & in perfect condition. These are supposedly around 1940s ... I AM SO EXCITED!!! The feedsacks replaced barrels for shipping farm & food items. Originally feedsacks were plain linen colored w/advertising in ink the company's logo & product. Approximately c. 1925 colored feedsacks came into play, still stamped in ink the advertising. I found it very interesting that the manuf. even created patterns for dolls, animals & quilt blocks onto the 'sacks ... I found (2) most recently.

At times it is necessary to rest one's self in silence for a wee bit, in order to become wonderfully refreshed.

Prim2Pink said...: It is actually quite quiet here today too! I'm just sitting here sipping a cup of hot cocoa looking out the window at all the pretty white snow we got yesterday. I haven't had to go to work for 2 days now because of the weather. Oh the thought of having to go back to reality!! Oh well, I'm enjoying it while I can!
I thought about letting the Grandkids skate on our swimming pool until the Hubby reminded me that we have a vinyl lining & if one of them put a skate blade through the side there would be no swimming come summer. hehehe

The business goes well. The shop we are in as a whole is pretty slow, but we are doing fine. We have nothing to compare it to since this is our first year though. The Fall was VERY slow, I'm hoping with Spring around the corner things will pick up. It is helping that we have a lot of small items, that seems to be what is selling right now. My gorgeous marathon son, Emery

My son, Emery, started late in life with many things ... but has been very successful in them all. We had planned to work on a retirement future when he decided to go to college ... after 7 yrs. & bless Cathelene he got married ... TG! While in college he 'ran' some but got really serious about 10 yrs. ago. Now he chases the marathons all over & has done so well in his ventures. We go to the Boston Marathon with he & his family yearly. He runs several marathons in the Wash., DC arena, including the Marine Corps. Marathon. We are so very proud of all Emery has accomplished in his life .. including being a wonderful Father to Ansel & Tatiana, & husband to his wife, Cathelene.
