~ Love Is... ~ Change
Last week I shared with you the new hardwood floors, hand laid from scratch, sanding for 3 days, then 3 days of staining ... in our front room & dining room.
Now it took me/us maybe an hour or so to BOX UP everything, move all the furniture out of the living & dining rooms, thus
creating a 'pathway' thru the kitchen for a week.
~ Please pop by to visit the other lovely Love Is... ladies ~
Tete
Anne
Rita
Sherry (Sis took today off for her birthday)
Getting it ALL back where it came from has been a challenge, as I do not like change. When I place something in a 'spot' ... there it shall grow 'roots'. Not so this time ... I still have a box of treasures I have to 'find' a place for between the dining & living areas.
~Today I am also joining Cielo @ houseintheroses ~
to show you my favorite room. Of course, it is PINK!
Would you expect anything other ... chuckle!
This may have been a blessing in disguise as I am
actually changing things a wee bit, & kind of liking
it.
And, I found many things that I had long forgotten ...packed away. It was such a moment to find my Mother's Irish linens she had hand stitched ...

It looks so lovely there, Marydon. I'm not a big fan of change usually, either, although once in a while it is nice to do something a little differently.

ReplyDeleteYour floors are beautiful! I am glad you found the linens. I don't like a lot of change either, but sometimes just changing a tabletop lifts my spirits.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is nice to have a change, but I am one who doesn't change my home much either! I just finished unpacking the last of our boxes after the flood here in our home and it was fun finding things I'd forgotten about! Have a good week!

Dearest Marydon,
ReplyDeleteJust landed here from Orchid's Daily Voice and am following you now. So you have tackled the room for putting in a wooden floor. We've done that four years ago and we both LOVE it. Why did we ever have carpet?! A lot of work but worth it. Great for finding your mother's Irish linens that were tucked too far away... That's one blessing coming out of this.
You did write about Holland where you'd traveled to a lot. Guess you really mean North and South Holland the two most western provinces. The country is called The Netherlands and I'm from the most southern province of Limburg. One can compare North and South Holland with North and South Carolina... But thanks for liking my birth country!
Lots of love,
Mariette
Marydon that room is beautiful. I love that color of pink you have on your walls. Now that would put me in a good mood everytime I would walk into it!!!!!! I know it has been a lot of work...but so worth the effort.
ReplyDeletesending big, big hugs...
What a beautiful room--that shade of pink is perfect! Thanks for stopping by my blog and visiting!
ReplyDeleteMary
