Just a little peek into the gardens ...
as we sit on the front porch chatting about dinner ...
Oh! okie dokie ...
then let's take a wee peek out back ...
This rhodie is the last one of the season ...
We had her shipped from Wa. St. a few years ago ...
She never disappoints us ...
with each stage of her glory ...
Of course, my precios little pinkies ...
Kissed by the morning rain ...
My terrace begonias received blessings also ...
They greet me each morning ...
I so enjoy watching each beauty ...
unfold ...
every day ...
They bring me joy ...
As i wander thru the gardens ...
Harold put in the rest of the edging around the side gardens ...
As a Mother's Day present for me ...
It just finishes off the bedding ...
And my trellis is so full with both climbing roses ...
Do you remember this gorgeous Mother's Day pink rose bouquet that Ansel made sure I got ...
They lasted a full two weeks ...
Turning into the most gorgeous bunchy golden touched roses I've ever seen.
And, now for that Baked Potato Salad ...
Bake a couple (or as many as you wish) of potatoes in the microwave & cool ... cut in 1/2, scoop out the inner potato into a bowl. Take a fork or knife & make the potato pieces small or roughly mashed. You can add anything you wish to the potatoes ... eggs, celery, tomato, green onion, onions, celery seed, pepper, cucumber, radishes ... whatever you desire. Take Hellman's or Best Foods mayo, add enough Dijon golden mustard to suit your taste, a pinch of salt, a dash of pepper to taste. What makes this so different (?) is the baked potato flavor.
Enjoy! Have a delightful day ...

Beautiful gardens, and lawn (thanks Harold).. a far cry from the desert rocks I'm seeing out here in Arizona. I will miss beautiful flowers like that here in AZ. I am sure that potato salad would make the perfect addition to the grillin dinner we have planned tonight. THANKS
ReplyDeleteWHY doesn't my yard look like that, Marydon? OH..yes..it's because I'm fooling with that blamed swing! :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMona
Oh Marydon your gardens are just beautiful!! How do you ever keep up with them all? You should see mine right now- I took pictures earlier but now they are a jumbled mess as roses needed transplanted, iris divided, things switched from here to there.
ReplyDeleteMarydon,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful garden you have and I so love your front porch! Perfect to sit there with a cup of Tea!!
Hugs,
Debbie
What a beautiful garden, Marydon! I'm sure it's a fragrant haven for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the recipe, too. I'm going to have to try that.
Hugs,

I need some rose advice. I am not sure if it is different due to the high altitude here but I want to plant some roses. I see a house a few minutes from mine that has beautiful roses in the front yard. I want them too! I do have a huge rose bush near the back fence. They have wilted and burned up from the terrible heat we have had! Sigh.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely garden.
Anne
What a cool sounding potato salad. I must give this one a try. Thanks so much for letting me know about it.
