Out of all the homes that we saw, this one truly captured me ... the beautiful quilt painted on the side & the sweet wreath of flowers on the door.
This field is around the corner from our home ...
I love driving by it every single day & enjoy the beauty of the horses grazing in the field of buttercups ...
Enjoy the beauty of each home we saw ... the bones of the structures, the beauty of the land, the stories & memories of yore that each home echos thru time ... just splendid, peaceful scenes.
Sadly this lady sits beautifully in the vast yard ...
Left to ruins ...
I can picture the hot summer afternoons with cooling lemonade & fans breezing them as they sit chatting away the day ...
Pink, of course!
She is so immaculately groomed, I could stand there fr a very long time basking in her warmth ...
Proudly she hails on the porch, beautifully swinging in the breeze ...
Colorful, to say the least ...
And, then there is this, always one to find in them thar hills ... chuckle.

That last picture, my mom would have said they have a little bit of everything and a whole lot of nothing. I think someone too old to do much for themselves, maybe. I love all the well kept homes. Enjoy your weekend Marydon. xoxo,Susie

Hopefully just scoping newbies to share ... :):) I know how beautiful these areas truly are .. firsthand ... I can almost smell the clean air, and taste that frsh squeezed lemonade that only YOU make !! Tay ALWAYS says how he could soo go for some "Marydons lemonade" gosh, we sure slurped that all away, and always appreciated how there was a new pitcher made everytime we snuck into the fridge !! Nothing you do so graciously, goes unnoticed .. believe me !!

Love Susie's Mom's comment, "little bit of everything and a whole lot of nothing." How true and how sad but, looks like a lovely trip. That part of WV is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sweet Sis... What a beautiful share. I can just hear the chatter and laughter as you holler pull over, I need that pink one. You always have such fun breezing the countryside. I hope to get to do that again too one day.

Arent these wonderful old homes. Sad about the big estate house. We have one near us going to hell and a handcart. I so wish someone will salvage it. You know I am hoping the trailer house had joyous times...
ReplyDeleteA nice tribute to your meandering ways! A good history lesson here too!
