chuckle!
Hop on in & let's take a wee glimpse of that beautiful place called God's country ... By God, It's West Virginia, so they like to remind us!
And, right there in the middle of the screen is the most BEAUTIFUL eagle you can barely see, just to the right of that left 'eye'. There were 6 of these gorgeous creatures but they wouldn't hold still long enough for me to capture
It makes me ponder ... was it a tobacco barn or did it hold cattle ... probably cattle. Tobacco
barns usually had one whole end open ...
Just a pretty countryside home surrounded in serenity
Does curiosity stoke you with the life events that were held within the barns of yore ... weddings, baptisms, funerals, church meetings, family gatherings ...
God truly worked hard to share His passion for art on this earth we are so blessed with
The towering stone mountains that hold the coal & life for this state, the livelihood of many who have provided for each of us in some way
The powerful dome of this building (a government facility) towering over this awesome religious painting ... truly making a statement of their strong beliefs holding Him up in many ways as you travel in WV
What more can you show in 8 hours of a 'forever trip' that didn't happen ... I think not much, the beauty says it all.
How's that for a 'quickie'?
Have a beautiful day ...
God's country is definitely beautiful no matter where we are! LOVE that barn in the last photo. I think I have seen that one around here! LOL

ReplyDeleteOh Sis...
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful, even if it was only an 8 hour tour. It was fun, and I love the share from it. I love the barns, you have instilled your love for them in me too. The brooks and the hillsides. Just so beautiful.
Thank you for taking me along. I love the open the door and throw it out thought. If life were only that simple. NOT...
Talk to you soon. Many hugs and SO much love. Your Lil Sis, Sherry
We are truly blessed to have so much beauty to take in everyday and everywhere we go. Thanks for sharing these magnificent works of art. Love all those barns. I like you tend to wonder to when they might have been bustling in their day with people everywhere whatever the occasion. Love the old car too. Memories there.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures and the descriptions you added! I think that barn picture should be framed! Have a blessed day my friend! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I got over to visit you today and what a surprise!
You have featured my home state of West Virginia. It is a lovely state with the most wonderful people and often it goes unsung for it's beauty.
Although I live in North Carolina, been here for five years now, I still miss my mountains of WV.
I'm going up to see my sister next week and I can hardly wait to be in familiar country.
We are still trying to sell our home here and move back to WV, so send up a little prayer for me.
Thank you for so lovingly featuring my home state. The photos are so beautiful.
Big West Virginia Mountaineer hugs!
Sissie
Looks like PA! Thanks for the glimpse! I cannot wait to see sights like this for myself when I go up next month! I miss it!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe unplanned trips are the best!
Thanks for the quickie trip just the day for it.

Girl I loved it! But then I do like "quickies"!
ReplyDeleteHey Marydon...loved this beautiful post. I have a similar one to post later this month following the country tour of homes I did last weekend. Saw lots of beautiful old barns too. :)
ReplyDeleteMarydon - What lovely pictures! My family is all from WV, so this post is full of familiar beauty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little trip!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. I've enjoyed reading a little about you and look forward to getting to know you better.

Hi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteI love this post of beautiful God's country. My mother was born and raised in W.V. and we spent every summer vacation there when I was growing up. I love it and the mountains and hills.
You sure captured some wonderful barns and the sky with the eagle is gorgeous.
Now I want to take a little trip!
Hugs and Blessings, Celestina Marie
Hello Marydon,
ReplyDeleteI just was over visiting Sherry and I wanted to pop on over and see what you are up to before I head off to sleep! The photos are great , I would love that car, how much fun would that be to drive around town in. I am eyeing an old beat up 1960's Volvo. I love it but don't know if it runs???
I hope you and the family are all doing well. I haven't given my mother the lamp yet, she was unable to come down because my dad has gout and he is in pain. So the lamp is sitting on a table in our bedroom, the problem is I LOVE IT there and don't want to give it away now...I know Im a bad girl but it is gorgeous!! and it looks so pretty in my old farmhouse. Maybe I will have to get another one sometime soon !!
Take care my friend
xoxo

ReplyDeleteHello, I'm still making my PS visits. Love your post this week. I live in those beautiful hills so I know just what you are talking about. See that view from my porch and my drive to work everyday.

ReplyDeleteMarydon, I'll be driving through West Va in a couple of weeks on our way down to North Carolina for the Furniture Market in High Point. It is always a beautiful drive- the colors are usually in full spectrum.
ReplyDeleteI love what you captured in your photos- the skies, the barns, the countryside. God's handiwork is truly beautiful...
