Just a couple years ago Joshua & his friend Josh took off together. We then went on our first blueberry picking trip to Josh's grandparents orchard in Thurmont, MD. It was a very hot morning. We feverishly picked to get out of the sun, took home these huge beauties & packaged them for the freezer.
We both chuckled, Joshua is going to be THRILLED since he loves blueberry pancakes & muffins.
Later that day Joshua called to chat ... we both said at the same time 'I have a sur-PRIZE for you!' We offered each to tell their surprise to one another.
Joshua & Josh were both at the orchard at the exact same time we were, picking blueberries for us ... 20# worth. They were a few rows way from us.
Boy did we get a good laugh! & we love to share this story with every blueberry creation.

Hi Marydon. I enjoy that story. I have been having such a hankering for blueberry pancakes lately. Now that I think about it I used to get the best blueberry snow cones at the beach years ago. I could really go for one of those right now too. Oh' no, now you've really got me started I'm wanting a candy apple, some cotton candy.....
ReplyDeleteMaybe tomorrow I go u-pick and pick some grapes, if any are left. They only ripen in Aug & Sept here.
Hugs...Tracy :)
That is a story of perfect giving, and it involves blueberries which are so yummy.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet:) Love it that you all had the same thoughtful idea! Have a blessed day! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI am drooling!!!! I remember most Sunday mornings after church, we'd get home and mom would begin making her 'from scratch' French Toast...and we'd top it off with warm blueberry preserves that she had canned. Ohhhhhhh, so very luscious.
ReplyDeleteSweet nostalgia.
ReplyDeletePicking probably not to be repeated experience, but great memories.
I'll still eat 'em, though!
Such a cute story, thank you for sharing it! Just can't have too many berries...yum!
