~ Looking ... ~
up!
We don't realize how precious some parts of our lives are until ...
I am looking upward for support & stability ... & praying for my eyes.
I have lost 25% of my vision since January via cataracts in both eyes. It is difficult to read/see some days. They will be operated on in Oct. & Nov. This will restore a good portion of my vision, but not all.
They have now diagnosed me with Macular Degeneration in both eyes ... there is nothing they can do except watch the progression, give me special vitamins & I can pray that I don't loose my vision which is usually the net outcome in time. I am mentally storing God's beautiful world away, should that day come.
Soooo, I post when my eyes are not too blurry, I read when my eyes are not too worn out.

Hi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your eye troubles. You are spot on about not realizing how precious life is. More often than not, it is only when we are faced with some type of bad news that we become well aware that LIFE is precious, and every second counts. All God's Best, Kerrie

Sorry to hear about your vision problems. Two of my friends have moms that get injections once a month for macular degeneration. One of them it is helping her a lot, the other, started way too late, when she was 95! xo,
ReplyDeleteOh my friend, I pray that the surgery helps a WHOLE Bunch and that God will keep your eyes SEEING ALL of the beauty around you! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI am praying that surgery has good outcomes for you. We do them all the time at the hospital I work at and the vision restoration is nothing short of a miracle.
ReplyDeleteAnd while there is no "cure" for macular degeneration they are making so much progress in treating it that, hopefully, they will be able to stop it in its tracks soon.
God bless you--I am so sorry that you have to go through this...as my father used to say...aging isn't for sissies! And..ain't THAT the truth? xo Diana
Marydon! I am so sorry for your vision problems!! I have not been dx yet macular degeneration. But I do have cataracts! The optometrist said in about a year I would have to have surgery. But I can tell they are getting worse on a daily basis.

It will help your vision when those darn cataracts are removed. Hoping your case of MD is a very slow progressing type and that you keep your vision for many years to come. Take care sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this. I am sure the good lord will give you the strength to make this day through.
ReplyDeleteYou take care.
Nancy
Marydon, I am so sorry to hear about your eye troubles. I pray that you will beat the odds and maintain good vision.

ReplyDeleteOh, poop I never take my sight for granted, I would rather loose my hearing an arm or a leg. Don't you think in this day an age that they could cure MD, I know they have come a long ways on treating it. We are going to be optimistic that it is very, very, slow and more treatment options become available. in the mean time you will get a huge boost with the cataract removal! Keep us posted we all care!

ReplyDeleteWet mac or Dry mac? Can't do much with dry but with wet you can get shots every month or so. Hubby has maintained vision with wet mac for a couple years now. His reading is deteriorating but otherwise is good.

ReplyDeleteHe sees the smallest sparrow fall, and I know He cares for you...
Praying He will give sight to you.

Hi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteI left a comment here the other day, but I just looked and it's not here. I told you that I am going through the same thing. I have macular degeneration in the early stages. My Mom went through the same disease.I'm hoping that mine isn't as bad as hers was. I'm taking the vitamins too. Maybe we can keep in touch and sort of "compare notes" about our progress. I love to do artwork, needlework, reading, TV and everything else that uses my eyes. I'll keep you in my prayers that your surgery is successful.Balisha
Oh Marydon, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh Marydon...you are in my thoughts and prayers, Dave has M.D. and he takes Luteine...I think that's how it's spelled.
ReplyDeleteMy sweet friend I hate to hear this. I have often sturggled with my poor vision and my doctor reminds me that I too, could lose my vision. I truly love you and your dear heart. You must store all those memories. As a child, my grandmother who was my BFF lost her vision when I was 7. I often close my eyes and wonder how in the world she did what she did to continue to live a full and productive life. My friend, I found the answr, it is the Lord Himself. I love you dearly please keep me posted. Hugs Anne
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are being said for you. I can only imagine how scary this is for you. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI hate to hear about your eyes Marydon. I will keep you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteLife is so unfair sometimes. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this Marydon. You would think they would have found a way to cure this or prevent it from happening by now, I'll sat a prayer for you that surgery goes well and you are able to keep your sight for a long time to come.
ReplyDeleteI know I stopped by before but I had to comment again! I just listened to a beautiful progrma on the Christian radio. A gentleman described life with his two daghters, one with hearing one who was deaf. His story was o touchin but beautiful. We realy need to thank God for all the blessings He bestows on us particularly our senses. I love you dear friend. You are like a beautiful gem that I never will tire of hearing your stories and seeing your beautiful family and treasures here. You are so loved. Anne
