... even my heart Dr. said it is fabulous! I bake him a cake every 4 months when I go in.
These are my first strawberries from my garden of this season, & are they ever deelish!!!
When I bake I do this ... if using canned fruits, I drain the juice off & set aside ... say it equals 3/4 c. of juice.
A white cake mix any brand.
Use the juice you drained & add enough water to EQUAL the water amounts on box ... in other words ... 1 1/3 cups of water is now 3/4 c. juice & adding enough water to equal the 1 1/3 c. of water required, or whatever the box indicates as liquid totals.
Prepare batter as indicated on box. Then add (1) drained 15 oz can of mandarin oranges, beat, pour into pan & bake, according to directions on box.
Cool.
Topping ~
(1) can of crushed pineapple
(1) pkg of instant vanilla jello pudding
(1) medium tub of cool whip
Mix the pineapple & pudding until the pudding is dissolved, toss in the cool whip & blend gently by hand, smother the cake ...
and go to heaven!!!
Now you can reverse the fruits to make a different version which goes over just as big & is as delicious. Decorate with sliced strawberries, blueberries, or other fruits, or flowers for that extra punch of color & fun!
** ENJOY ** Tomorrow you will definitely NOT want to miss my write ... you won't believe who came to visit me! I am just so thrilled ...
When I get back home.....I'm gonna' make this cake.....and see what happens. Tee hee!!

You have strawberries? YOU have fresh strawberries already? How is this possible?
ReplyDeleteHi Marydon
ReplyDeleteYour cake looks delicious. I love strawberries too but my strawberry plants have only just flowered here. I will have to make do with the supermarket ones for a few more weeks.
I enjoyed your previous post. That was such a funny story. The houses were all gorgeous. Oh what I would give to look inside. Now for an embarrasing story. I was once at a wedding and I had a dress with a matching floaty scarf. The floaty scarf somehow ended up right in my soup! Everyone on the table saw. I had to dash to the bathroom and rinse it quickly otherwise it would have looked dreadful.
