You can see the helping hand holding onto to his
arms, someone else is holding his feet ... he is
UPSIDE DOWN.
Yes, he had to kiss the Blarney Stone ... not I, I'll just
claim mine naturally thru genetics ... chuckle!

Good Morning Marydon,
ReplyDeleteLove that photo of Harold kissing the Blarney Stone. So fun.
Hope he is doing better today. You are both on my mind.
Becky K.
Explain what a Blarney stone is please. I love the photo with the plants on the side of the building. Congrats to your winner.
ReplyDeleteLucky you Marydon! I would love to go to Ireland someday. I just found out today that my grandfather was given the opportunity for him and his descendents to go to Ireland for a family reunion. That would have been so fun! He was over 6 foot tall with red hair!!
ReplyDeleteSt Patty's day blessings~
PS I have been told that you have to be held upside down to kiss the blarney stone...is that true?? Yikes! ha!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteOh, Blarney Stone☆☆☆
ReplyDeleteHow happy to see the picture.
I've never thought that I will be able to see someone who are really in Blarney Castle in her picture. I learned about the stone through my favorite drama "Murder She Wrote" which was broadcasted many years ago in Japan. Hope you know about the drama!!! The heroin was flattered too much from a man who came from Ireland and said "Have you ever kissed the Blarney Stone?"
And I needed to check what she meant because the phrase only translated "you're so good at flatter people". What a wonderful surprise and made me feel what a grate opportunity the blog provided me.
Thanks SO much.
Happy St. Patrick' Day!!!
Good Night here, haha.
Such a fun post and trip. Loved it. Happy St Patrick's Day.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures, Marydon. I feel like I travelled along with you. Happy St. Patty's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteMarydon I enjoyed this post so much. My ggrandparents came over to America and down to Maryland and over to Kentucky. My grandmother said my ggmother died when she, my gm was just a young girl and being the oldest she had to help raise the children. My gm was born in Indiana and would tell us about coming back to Ky. in a covered wagon. Blessings this day to you and family. Hope hubby is doing good.

Marydon! Gorgeous photos! My grandmother came over from Ireland when she was pregnant with my own father.
ReplyDeleteRumor has it that the Irishmen pee on the Blarney stone just for a laugh at the tourists! My daughter kissed it too and I asked her if it tasted salty!;>)
Have a wonderful day! xxoo Diana

I did the Blarney Stone bit, too...and was surprised at how you had to do that....BUT...the steps leading up to there (and then back down) were very damp and slippery so that made me more nervous than the way we had to lean over to do the kissing of the stone!!! Lovely photos again...thanks! And blessings to you on this special day.
ReplyDeleteMay you always have
ReplyDeleteWalls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!
Happy St. Patrick's Day, dear Marydon:-) The first time I ever read how you have to place yourself to kiss the Blarney Stone, my first thought was NO WAY...it's still my thought! lol

Love the pics of Ireland on St Patty's Day and I read about the Blarney Stone of which some of it I had heard before but forgotten. Hope Harold feels well enough to kiss the Blarney stone again soon. PBS had a special on last nite with great pics of Ireland and songs from Bing Crosby, the Irish Tenors, and famous trios. It was hosted by Patty Duke and it was really good.
