crossed with many times throughout her childhood

He used to play down the street from her house,
he rode a horse behind her at the downtown
festival, went to same school (tho older) ... his best bud & her best friend tried to get them together many times. She wasn't interested ...
Then one day at his parents house he asked her
out. She accepted. On Friday they went to a Ham
Radio Club meeting for that first date & they
decided that ...

... & four (4) weeks from the day they
went out, they were wed.
He had reenlisted & didn't want to wait
until Sept. 27th for her dream, to wed on her birthday.
The gown was 25# (yup!) of slipper satin.
Mother had actually stitched part of this
gown for our neighbor friend (she was
kind enough to lend it).

Wonderful post. Congratulations 50 years is so very rare and precious. After 50 years one knows what Love is. It is sure not all those things young folks think it is. I know your children are so proud of you. We celebrated 51 in April and the kids are always telling us how proud they feel. Sure hope the love of your life is feeling well these days. Blessings

Isn't it funny how young and silly we look and then mature so much better, sugar? Your hubby looks very distinguished in his mature years. Jack and I will be celebrating by going to California first week in June. I can't wait to see my kids and grandkids. Many more happy years.
