Most of our rhododendron's we have ordered from Washington State, where we are originally from. 'Why', you ask ... varieties not ever found on the east coast, & many other locations throughout this country are available there.
We have visited near Olympia, a rhodie
nursery & I felt like I was in a little spot
of heaven. The variety was overwhelming, I would have needed a moving van to bring them home with me ... one of everything.
Enjoy ...

What a lovely array of flowers and hues.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers. Rhododendrons don't grow here in our dry climate.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! They're so wonderful, Marydon. Thanks for sharing them with us. :)

ReplyDeleteSuch beatiful flowers as God has made! It is so wonderful that He shares them with us. Yours are lovely! Enjoy every moment with them.
ReplyDeleteI never had luck with Rhodies, but I wasn't quite sure how to care for them...they're fussy, aren't they? Maybe not, I was probably careless! Yours are just lovely!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Oh, wow...pretty!!! I love this time of year when everything is really getting into bloom (at least here in Wisconsin). It was such a bleak winter and, yes, spring this year. I've never tried growing these, but my parents did. They are so bright and pretty. Thanks for sharing and have a great day. ; )

ReplyDeleteHey Marydon...I didn't know that about oregon rhododendrons. I enjoyed seeing all the lovely blooms. I love the rho's. Ours are diminished and brown now. Their gorgeous blooms are so fleeting.
ReplyDeleteHow about a couple of moving vans? Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in WA state too. My mother and brother are still in Yelm which is not to far from Olympia. I graduated from High School in Tacoma. I miss the Rhodies and so hard to grow here in MO.
ReplyDeleteThey really are pretty, here in WA state, the town next door in Port Townsend has a Rodhie's Festival... They weren't blooming too much this year.. it's been so cold... but NOW they are all blooming and just beautiful. I feel like the blossoms last for a long time! glad you enjoy them too
ReplyDeleteHello dear Marydon, I'm finally having time to visit again:-) I was gone to Niagara Falls for our long weekend last weekend and had such a fun time!!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your Rhodies, they're so beautiful. I've never tried growing those so will have to find out if they'd survive in my zone.
Have a wonderful day, my friend. xoxo
I believe that your yard is a little spot of Heaven to Marydon. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI can see why, they are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd they don't grow up country that well, so I don't know what I am going to do....maybe plant peonies.
And lilacs, and anything else that takes a dry climate.

ReplyDeleteWow, your rhodadendrums are georgeous...just breathtaking. Mine ae just starting to show a tiny bit of color, I only have two. Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that. Funny being from Washington I seem to take them for granted. Until they bloom! I do with they bloomed all summer long, they only share their flowers for such a short time.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOH! Gorgeous! Azaleas do great here but not Rhododendrons. Of course I can't grow Azaleas either because they are deer candy! Have a wonderful weekend, xxoo Nan
ReplyDeleteOh Marydon, How I wish you were closer, I would love to see your stash:-) Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteNo I don't thing Blogger is done with us yet, I think they are getting to be a minnie Microsoft. I hate to say it, but they never used to be like this. I won't use Chrome, but I hear that is what they are pushing for. I have access to WordPress through my website but I have just been to lazy to figure it out, so I guess its time, because I don't like what is going on here.
Have a wonderful weekend and hope your weather is better than sunny Cali's, its crazy here.
Warm Wishes, CindyLew
