Oops! Sorry this one is a mailbox ... soooo that being the case, let's just take a leisurely stroll down this wonderful country road & enjoy the beautiful rustic barns, farms & fields ... the fresh country air ...
Clever mailbox ... wonder if they realize how
valuable that 'cycle is!
The birds are sharing their beautiful melodic greetings, see! there are squirrels scurrying
about preparing for the winter ...
The skies are a baby bird egg blue, a touch of
bright yellow florals sway in the soft breeze ...
Often not seen but there are still some old
lovely log cabins to be found ... they add such
a long ago charm to the terrain ...
I often wonder why beautiful old barns &
silos are left to deteriorate ...
A touch of fall is kissing the tree tops, soon to be in full regalia ... God has the most exquisite paint brush ever!
She still stands so stately against the lush
greenery of trees, I wonder what the little shed holds ...
There is such a romance about these precious treasures tucked gently on a farm or nestled amongst the overgrowth of trees & vines ...
Can you hear the children running in & out & all about this sprawling farm house, lying beneath a tall oak tree in the summer's heat sharing dreams with their friends, working side by side with their parents in the fields, preparing for the harvest ...
Soon the machines will clear the crops from the fields for harvest & prepare the soil for the winter ...
Equipment will be sold off or prepared for the
weather that will soon be upon them ...
I often dream of a fresh coat of paint would so
bring her a beauty to enjoy, sparkling beneath
the crisp autumn sky ...
and often reflect if it were not for our farmer's arduous hard labor & loyalty to all of us, for the bounties of all the grains, fruits & vegetables, cattle & poultry, what would life be ...
I treasure each beautiful farm vision I come upon to enjoy & silently respect & honor with deep
appreciation the selfless work ...
Thank you.
Thank you so much for the wonderful trip and scenic backgrounds. I love the barns. The mailbox is a gem and I am with you, wonder if they know what they have there. Char
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your photos of all the beautiful barns and landscape.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. sandi
Beautiful pictures Marydon! Where were you at when you took them?
ReplyDeleteHave a Great Day!

Oh Marydon, what a magical tour for me. I love these old images of an America that I dreamed of as a child. Growing up in the ugly city of Los Angeles, I so often wisked myself away through books that had such images. To see that they really exist, to this day, enchants me. What would we do without these courageous and adventurous people who have come for all corners of the world to raise crops here in America. Just lovely, and thank you for coming over! STAY YOUNG! Anita
ReplyDeleteHee hee! I love that "Mailbox". The stone summer kitchen is pretty sweet too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Marydon. It makes me wish that my children were little again, to see them running and hear the laughter. Sweet days.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a wonderful tour guide! I wonder too why they just let old barns wither away and fall down.
ReplyDeleteThe motorcycle was so cool! What a creative mailbox.
The summer kitchen? Never heard of that before, but I do bet it holds some stories.
We owe a great deal to the farmers, that is very true. Great pictures of the old barns and farms, Marydon.
ReplyDeleteI like old farm buildings and houses, but I can never seem to get the car stopped in time for the photo shoot.
ReplyDeleteThat motorcycle should be rescued.
Honey I can not begin to tell you how good this post made me feel tonight. You have such a way with words and pictures that makes me feel like I am standing there with you while your snapping away.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have taken some priceless pictures here and some of these framed would be beautiful.

What a nice way to start my day! Your pictures are wonderful and I would love to know the stories behind all those walls too!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the peaceful drive through the country with you. I do wish those walls could talk...that summer kitchen intrigues me. Hope you are feeling better Marydon.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Marydon! Your area looks a lot like mine in Connecticut. You've given me an idea -- I should go out and take some shots. That is, if I am not too lazy... ;)

Gloria
My hats off to the farmers in the USA. They work hard and long hours. What would be do without them?
ReplyDeleteAnd why do they leave them to rust like that and fall a part? Great pictures though.

Beautiful pictures Marydon! I absolutely adore barns and silos! If I see one, I am taking a picture:) Have a blessed day and big HUGS!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing tribute to the farmers and caretakers of the land Marydon. I have a softspot, because my husband farmed with his father all of his growing up years and the first sixteen years of our life together. What a great way to raise our children! They had the run of our 160 acre farm and dairy. I love listening to them remember when we all get together.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of the rural life!
hugs and love to you...
Thanks you for another fabulous tour! I really loved all the photos, Marydon! Looks like you are having a great time out in the country!

Hi Marydon, Lovely photos.... looking at them just puts you in a trance so calming. I love barns and the rural way of life and especially small old towns.. I always get a good feeling going through places like that. I guess that's why I live in surrounding such as the ones you posted! Nothing like the serenity of it all!!
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you dear Lady for stopping by even though I haven't posted for a very long time. Hopefully you'll stop by again when I get a chance to update my post.
Your funny and may be right concerning the bike. Some of those can be real high in value with the older ones. hmmm YOu should check it out and offer them to buy it just to resale it if it's worth anything. hehe
Take Care and Have a Wonderful Day*
You live in such a glorious place.
ReplyDeleteBeing a farmer at heart, I so enjoy all the photos. Thank you. Love all the old buildings, especially the barns.
What a fab mailbox!! They are lucky someone doesn't steal it!
*hugs*deb
Hi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteYour tour of the countryside has me so inspired. You always share the best of God's world in pictures. Thank you for sharing. Hard to have a favorite. I love them all.
The badge button for Willow still shows as function disabled when I try to copy it. In fact, any pic on her blog does the same thing. I am going to try and use her badge pic from here and add her link. That way I can add her badge.
I am out of town this week traveling in south Texas with my hubby for work. It is good to take a short break.
Have a wonderful Autumn evening my friend.
Hugs and Blessings,
Celestina Marie
