~ Country Roads Pt. 3 Flapping In The Wind ~
We are now up in Amish country in PA. This is not an uncommon scene year round. Love the colorful flapping against the beautiful blue sky ...
The barns are so lovely, but too many are being lost to new structures ...
Love the gentle rolling countryside ...
Wonder often passing by, what animals lived in these barns ...
How many weddings, baptisms, funerals, country Sunday meals took place in these beauties ...
I can see the ladies & children finishing up the canning of summer gardens to carry them thru winter, the aromas filtering thru the home ...
So sad someone has left this fabulous structure to ruins ...
The vines climbing over the walls ...
Farms in PA are so meticulously groomed & kept ... peaceful settings.
So remember those clotheslines from my childhood, wires strung from house to garage ...
The dust from the crops being plowed
under ...
Preparing the soil for winter ...
The girls having some 'chill time' ...
The Susquehanna River flows gently to the rapids ...
Before spilling over the dam ...
Just a kiss of color ...
here & there.
We take these country roads yearly but this year because of my pending eye surgery we traveled a wee bit early, as I didn't want to miss the beauty of God preparing His exquisite land for the winter.
I'll be with you as my eyes permit ...

Good Morning Sweet Sis...
ReplyDeleteI popped over expecting some of those beautiful snowflakes and we are off in PA. I love it though. I especially love seeing the clothes flapping in the wind. Reminds me of the day when we went on our drive through the countryside. I loved it so much.
I know your love for barns. I can still hear you telling Harold I do not have a yellow barn. Harold stop, I do not have a yellow barn. We all laughed so hard, as the carn turned around and back we went to the yellow barn. I loved that day, it is forever etched into my heart and mind.
Thank you for the memories today sweetie. I hope you have a beautiful day. Now where are those snowflakes? Many hugs and SO much love, Your Lil Sis, Sherry
