~ Love Is... Halloween Memory Lane ~
Once upon a time we did go to a party ... I went as a 50s gal, he went as a bag of fertilizer. They are fun memories ... but ...
Oh, for the wonderful memories of when Joshua was a wee one ...
This was his first Halloween costume.
We entered him in the local town contest
& he won first prize in his age group.
We had painted little whiskers on him &
had blackened the tip of his nose.
Memories ... how precious for us. Please
join Donna @

as we walk down memory lane.
Every year Joshua helped decorate the house for
every holiday & believe me we decorated & had a
grand time watching him enjoy it all.
This year we held his wee hand & carved the
pumpkins together ... he was so tickled watching
what we created.
Pat, pat ... on the top of that pumpkin.
When we took the pumpkins out to the porch,
he kissed his 'favorite' pumpkin. Precious!!!
You betcha, melting heart moments.
In pre-K he wanted to be a fireman. What a fun day our party was with all the little goblins, pirates, princesses etc.
I sometimes wonder if we didn't have more fun than he did.
Also, pop by our Love Is... ladies ~

Wee ones at Halloween? ... More precious than words! I'm captivated by baby Joshua's costume, Mary Don .... and so INTRIGUED by the bag of fertilizer reference! (Do you have a picture?)
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a party DH and I attended a few years ago: He dressed all in brown with artificial vines/greenery from Michaels ... then tied "Trojans" to the vines.
The result? A rubber tree!
Such ADORABLE photos!! Tooooooooo cute! :):):):):):):):):):):)

ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful share this morning. I love it. Seeing Joshua grow through these photos are priceless. I can see why he won first place in the wee contest. He was precious.
My favorite is the one kissing the pumpkin. I love that one. So like the heart of a child. Fireman is pretty darn cute as well.
Thank you for sharing my precious Sis. I wish we could be together for Halloween. What fun the kids would be in store for.
Have a glorious day sweetie. Many hugs and SO much love. Your lil Sis, Sherry

Great memories. I think the grownups did have more fun. Thanks for visiting me tonight. I love your sign off- Happy Boo tiful Halloween. I think that's right.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter texted me pictures of my grandkids trick or treating. They are getting so big. We did not have a single trick or treater at our house this year! so many Fall Festivals but now I am stuck with candy.
Aww, what precious photographs, way too cute!!
ReplyDeleteMarydon honey I sure am missing you right now.
ReplyDeleteLoved your Memory Lane post with Donna. Your pics and precious memories of Joshua are just wonderful. I too would of voted him number one.
Thinking of you sweet friend and wondering about surgery and all this week.
I hope we can talk one evening soon.
My days are not good around here but that can't last forever.
I must go now and draw out of the jar paint or mow.
Love ya
Maggie
How wonderful..........yes, memories are precious! blessings,Kathleen
ReplyDeleteDarling photos! Every Halloween is a sweet new memiory!...A bag of fertilizer! ? :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful memories Marydon! Looks like your entire family got into the celebration, which was probably why he enjoyed Halloween so much. Well, that and the candy...you know it's hard for kids (young or us not so young) to resist it this time of year. Thanks for sharing your family history with us!
ReplyDeleteMemories are such an easy thing to store we should make more of them. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteI always think of Halloween as haunted by the ghosts of holidays past -- we really used to go all out for Halloween. My girls would start planning their outfits in July, and I'd sew them whatever they wanted.
ReplyDeleteLittle Joshua is adorable in his costumes -- another blast from the past!
And a bag of fertilizer? My hubby once went to a party with me, dressed as a Murphy bed -- I thought that was odd, but yours may have him beat.
Happy Halloween, a day late! This holiday just isn't what it used to be for me ... so I'm holding out hope for grandkids someday!
Meanwhile, how are you at old glass? I've got my grandma's cheese dome on my blog post today; if you get a chance, would you take a look? You are the most knowledgeable person I know about antiques!
Cass
