Mother nature brought us the most beautiful silver dollar sized fluffy white snowflakes. I am
doing a happy dance, oh, yes, I am!!
Let's take a ride & see the Victorian homes
as we enjoy the scenery ...
Nothing more beautiful than her flying high & proud thru every storm ...
This is my favorite beauty of yore ...
Tho each one has her own majesty ...
& elegance ...
Enjoy the ride ...
Mt. Airy is a quaint old railroad town ...
It has a railroad tunnel it is built upon ...
There are lots of rolling hills & knolls ...
Now mind you, the day before this storm Harold &
I took up 100+ of my geraniums which I do yearly
to pot & put under lights in the garage for the
winter ...
as they bask in lights & warmth until
spring ...
It was a cool but decent day, occasionally
a drizzle ...
perfect for working in the gardens ...
We even got the lawn mowed, apparently
in the knick of time ...
It felt so good working outdoors, the
fresh crisp autumn air ...
My climbing roses buds are now nestled in bridal
white ...
red dogwood berries stand bright against
the snow ...
this dogwood bows down to the earth as
she is ladened with the weight of snow ...
autumn hasn't even been able to say good night ...
I love the blend of autumn & winter
greeting one another ...
illuminating autumn colors & the purity of
winter to come ...
in the midst of our peak as earth prepares
to nestle quietly ...
nurturing the seeds that rest gently on
the soil ...
awaiting ...
until God wakens rebirth in the spring

Pretty, girl, but you can keep it for awhile! LOL
ReplyDeleteLovely photos...I love rolling hills and old homes.
Glad you got the yard mowed. Mower guy is coming today to ours done. I think, if DH feels like it, we will begin to pack away the summer stuff and move the furniture around for winter.
So far it's only frosted on the windshields, so will have to pick tomatoes again. This has sure been an abnormal year all the way through.
I hope we don't get any snow until after November comes. Like on the 3rd so we only have 3 snows this winter!
Have a great day and don't forget to salt the walks!
Fun pics! We had snow in Philly yesterday too-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteIndeed a beautiful photo narrative. I could just see all the sights your saw. We had a frost so heavy on Saturday AM I thought it was snow. I love living in a climate where the seasons change. The circle of life.

Beautifil photos. Snow makes everything pretty-until it starts to melt and get slushy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sentiments pretty lady. You are the first blogger I've come across that had something nice to say about the "early" snow. Most everyone else are cursing the skies. Thank you for having Sherry contact me. I get a little freaked when people I care about don't keep in contact........and we live in the same state! Well, today is a cleansing day for me.....I get to have a colonoscopy for Halloween....wahoo!
ReplyDeleteLot's of hugs,
Meri

Such beautiful shots, Marydon... Isn't snow just glorious.........to.look.at. :-) I just hate trying to drive in it. And, the Hubbs....from Hawaii.........not too much experience there.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you got your geraniums out. Oh my gosh. I so wish I had a spot to winter them over. I've tried many times before, but have always failed. I don't have a nice little spot in my garage to try to save them.... It would save so much money if I could.
Cuddle up to Harold and stay warm and cozy.
xoxoxoxoxo
Huggies and lovies,
S

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful site to awake to this morning. I do not see you catching angel kisses though? Did Harold forget to take that picture for me?
I love seeing the beautiful snow, just do not want to live in it. You know me, I love the warmth of the desert sun.
What a beautiful drive you two had. Thank you so much for letting me ride along this morning.
Now we have a beautiful 80 degree morning and I am off to Lowe's to get my mums and pansies. It is time to get them in the ground. I love shopping for the flowers.
Talk to you later. All my love, your lil sis, Sherry
It sure is beautiful Marydon. Beautiful captures me dear friend. Your part of the country is such a gorgeous place. I love the gazebo in the snow.

ReplyDeleteThe first snow is always so beautiful! And it really piles up on the trees when there are still so many leaves on them. I enjoyed my drive with you!
