Brooks Baker is now an angel ... she left our earthly world at a mere young ae of 50. Brooks was the loveliest cil we have, marrying my sweetest cousin, Leo. The love they had for one another was a constant 'bill & coo'. It was a devastating loss, we had so much fun as phone cousins, living so far away.
The year our Joshua was to be born to our daughter, Cari, Brooks made the reindeer from scratch for Joshua's first Christmas ... every single stitch by machine & many by hand of love are woven into this precious little fella. The following year Brooks made the Santa Claus, from scratch. These are very treasured gifts that are kept out all year in the blue bedroom with all of Joshua's family treasures ... often I hold them, revisiting silently the treasured words & laughter we shared together. God bless you Brooks & TY for leaving us a piece of your heart. At Christmas they take center honor under our Christmas tree.
The detail is perfection ...
Stitched with love ...
Aren't they adorable!
WHEN you decide to take 8 overseas packages to the USPS on the heaviest Christmas Monday for shipping, making sure you are FIRST in line while they are still fresh at the top o'the day ... THIS is what you take in for the postal workers ... LOTS of Ranger Cookies & Chococlate Chip Cookies!
What on earth!?!? Jocelyn Pleus, you are such a wonderful friend. I have been so blessed with your friendship ... This is what came in the mail, unexpectedly so. Look at the pretty Christmas paper ... so bright & cheery.
Jocelyn is a fabulous quilter, take a peek at her wonderful blog ~ Happy Cottage Quilter.
... and this is what was inside. The JOY ornament is now on our mantle center, hanging down, a perfect match to the decor; recipe cards that were direly needed in my pile stacked high to organize; a gorgeous pot holder; the CD Good Christian Men Rejoice (if you haven't heard it, go get it, it is awesome); A Life God Rewards book that I am going to tear into shortly.

Your note, Jocelyn, was heart moving. Thank you so much.
Merry Christmas!, to all ~ Marydon
Ooh Marydon.
ReplyDeleteSweetie you are so precious. I so love your little Reindeer and Santa Claus. Isn't it wonderful when people give of themselves, and we can take that gift out each year, or year round, and just touch the stitches they made, and feel the love they left behind? I love the gifts from the heart most of all. Thank you for sharing these.
How wonderful to get a special package from a friend. You should have many packages with all the friends you have collected along the way down your path of life. You are one of the most loving, giving and kind friends a girl could ever ask for. I am so honored you consider me a friend, you are my "Jewel" PB, a true gem.
I love you sweetie. Many hugs and so much love...Sherry
Hello Marydon, what precious gifts from your dear Brooks...and how sweet they hold such a special spot in your home and your heart... your gifts from your friend are wonderful as well...how very sweet of her to send you those... and how deserving you are... Oh Marydon, you do the same thing I do... taking cookies to the people at your post office! They work sooo very hard this time of year, and the ladies (and postmaster) at mine always have a smile on their face, even though the lines are a mile long! You are the sweetest! Love to you... xoxo Julie Marie

You are such a sweetheart.... I give a gift to our Postman every year as we really appreciate his service.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute to Brook. What a wonderful treasure your memories & these things she made.
After writing out my uncles poem for todays post I find my tears are like "water works". I become acutely aware of how much I miss the past & my family. He is the last one left of that generation & I can't imagine him leaving me too. His health is fragile....
Sorry... There goes the water works again! Boy, Christmas sure can do it!!
Love to You...
Marilyn
