Mother treasured her ornaments, she wrapped them carefully in tissue as she gently put them away for the next Christmas tree. I thought I had given away all her ornaments, BUT this year as we dug out boxes we found these precious ornaments of hers ... you can never know the excitement of joy for my heart.
The little bells in the lower right corner used to be held together with ribbons & placed on a branch.
I will show you more of our tree later. Have a beautiful day ... as we prepare for the celebration of His birth ...

Hi Marilyn, What a treasure of vintage ornaments you have and extra special because they were your mother's. I love the old ornies and the colors used.
ReplyDeleteI too have a nice little collection that were my familys from the 40's I call them WWII ornaments.
I know these mean a lot to you sweet friend. Thank you for sharing. I have so enjoyed catching up with your posts. It certainly has been a busy time.
Thank you for stopping by. It is always so special to see you.
Have a wonderful week.
Love your snowfall too.

That truly is a treasure find. My mother loves Christmas and Christmas trees. She has added enough ornaments to her collection over the years to fill a 10" tree. They date back into the 50's...many Hallmark. She never took my three siblings out hunting for a new one to add...that would have been way too interesting. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you found your mother's ornaments! I've always wished someone in my family had kept ours from the family tree but not a one is saved. Yet, to my surprise and delight, the other evening I found a set of vintage balls at an antique mall much like Mom's and Dad's! What a thrill! I can only imagine the thrill you felt at finding the originals!!!
